Overview
The base coat that earns its keep.
Pride is a single-pack primer built on epoxy resin and NC binder with carefully selected fillers, solvents and pigments. It grips properly prepared metal, dries hard, and leaves a smooth uniform gloss — a sound base for whatever finishing system goes over it.
Good resistance to abrasion, moisture and industrial atmospheres, at a price that lets you prime a whole fabrication shop.

Features
What you get for the money.
Epoxy + NC Binder
Epoxy resin and NC binder together with selected fillers, solvents and pigments — performance without the two-pack price.
Excellent Metal Adhesion
Grips properly prepared steel and metal substrates and stays gripped.
Corrosion Protection
A protective base coat under the finishing system, with good surface durability.
Hardness & Abrasion
Dries hard, so handling and stacking in the shop does not mark it.
Efficient Coverage
6–8 m² per litre on the first coat, 3–4 on the second.
Smooth Gloss Base
A uniform surface, ready for topcoat application by brush or roller.
The science behind Pride
How the film is built up.
Primer performance comes from film thickness, not from one heavy pass. Two to three coats, six hours apart, is what turns a coat of paint into a protective base.
Final build
A third coat where exposure is harsh — external steelwork, coastal air, industrial atmospheres.
Applied after the recoat interval
6–8 hours after the first coat. Covers at 3–4 m² per litre and closes the film.
Bonds to the metal
Covers at 6–8 m² per litre and anchors the system to the prepared substrate.
Properly prepared steel or metal
Clean, dry and free of rust, mill scale and loose coatings. Preparation decides everything above it.
2–3 coats · minimum 6 hours between coats · full cure in 2 days.

Full cure — in service
At normal ambient conditions. Low temperature, high humidity and heavy film build extend drying and recoat times. Coverage is theoretical — actual spread rate varies with surface profile and film build.
Performance profile.
Indicative profile. Tested under laboratory conditions.
Surface preparation
Three steps before the first coat.
On metal, preparation is most of the job. Mill scale and loose rust under a primer will lift it later.
Cleaning
Remove dust, dirt, oil, grease, wax and other contaminants — use a suitable solvent or degreaser if required. Eliminate rust, mill scale, old loose paint and flaking coatings by scraping, wire brushing, sanding or abrasive blasting.
Repair defects
Fill cracks, pinholes and surface voids with a compatible epoxy filler or repair mortar. Work back to a smooth, sound and level surface before coating.
Ensure dryness
The surface must be clean and completely dry. Do not apply over damp or contaminated substrates.
Application procedure
Five moves, six hours apart.
May be applied undiluted by brush, or with up to 5% xylene. Use thinned material within 24 hours of dilution. Solvent-borne and flammable — keep away from heat, sparks and open flame, and ventilate well.
